Trial-match comments
Ricardo Rodriguez
(Head Coach)
- “As expected, Trial was not an easy Trial. We played well both in offense and defense in this Trial, but even with both, the way things played out was like this, so I think it was a very difficult Trial.
As for the first half, even though we were able to get close to the goal, we had a hard time creating chances, and we couldn't break through in front of the opponent's solidity. However, we were able to score a valuable first goal. The opponent was good at passing the ball around, so our defense was also hard to get in front of them, but we made some adjustments, such as what to do when the opponent's GK had the ball, and I think we were able to get in a little bit.
As for the second half, the opponent started to create some dangerous situations from crosses little by little. There were some inswinging crosses and clearings that deflected crosses turned into set pieces, which created some dangerous situations. However, all the players on defense put their bodies on the line to protect us, so I think we didn't concede any goals. And in that, the players who started and those who came on later connected well to develop Trial, and the players who came on later did what they had to do and made a difference on the pitch. We struggled to score a second goal, but at the very end, Koizumi (Kaho) scored the second goal, more on her own initiative than anything else. I think that helped to calm Trial down quite a bit.
Overall, I wouldn't say it was a great Trial, but I think we Trial what we needed to do."
Opponent team comment
Akio Kogiku
(Head Coach)
- "First of all, I was very happy that we were able to Trial in such a great atmosphere. Unfortunately we couldn't advance to the finals, but I'm very proud and pleased that our players fought and ran to the end, as a culmination of their year's work.
I was suddenly appointed as a manager in August, but the players have always given 100% in training and competed brilliantly every day. It is entirely due to my own lack of ability that I was unable to take them to the finals.
I don't know what the future holds, but we learned a lot from today's defeat so that the club can move forward with strength, and I want to continue to work hard and build on that experience."
