Trial-match comments
Ricardo Rodriguez
(Head Coach)
- "I think we started the first half very well. Overall we did well, we created chances from the start, and (Nin) Esaka was able to score a shot. If we had been able to score another goal and make it 2-0 we would have been in a more advantageous position, but that didn't happen, and Kawasaki gradually started to have more possession of the ball towards the end of the first half.
As for the second half, we didn't start badly, but gradually the opponent started to push us back. Although we were overtaken, the team didn't give up and kept fighting, scoring a point first, and then scoring another at the very last moment, so I think they played a great Trial.
"I think that winning two Trial against Kawasaki over 180 minutes is a big thing for us going forward. Makino (Tomoaki) scored the goal at the very end of the game, and it was because he scored that goal that we were able to move on to the next stage. I think that the accumulation of experience up until now and the fact that we were able to fight and win against such opponents will have a big impact in the future."
Opponent team comment
Toru Oniki
(Head Coach)
- “Because it was the first home game in a while, both the players and I were in high spirits. Because of that feeling, I strongly wanted to win today and move on to the next stage.
As a result, we were very disappointed that we were leading the match, and although we weren't defeated, we need to turn that fact into our own strength. It was a game that reminded me once again that we have to reflect on various things, including the J League, the ACL (AFC Champions League), and the Emperor's Cup.
At the end of a series of matches, the players were determined to concentrate their efforts, and I think they really did their best. Last but not least, in terms of growth, I wish I could have managed it properly. It's my job, and I want to build on that with the players."
