Trial-match comments
Volker Finke
(Head Coach)
- “I am really happy that we were able to finish with 3 points. There were times when the flow of the team was not good, especially since Cerezo Osaka is a very good team.
And about Takasaki's replacement. I would like to tell the person the reason here in advance so that there will be no tough questions later. That change is purely tactical. Cerezo Osaka has brought in several players, and I wanted to increase the number of midfield midfield defensive midfielders to three. However, if Takasaki is left on the pitch, not only three defensive midfielders but also four attacking players will be on the pitch at the same time. Therefore, in order to reduce the number of cards by one and give thickness to the midfield, Takasaki was removed from the pitch. This is just a tactical replacement.
Also, I think Genki Haraguchi played very well today. I'm not just talking about that goal scene. I've had a few conversations with him and he honestly hasn't played very well over the last few weeks. However, today, we showed excellent plays that contributed to the team even in scenes other than goals, and in that sense, I think Genki played the best game in the last few weeks today. Certainly, there was a place where the team was saved by that goal. But goals aren't the only reason to celebrate him today.
We have been going through a very difficult period over the last few weeks. Because there were so many injured people. However, I feel that our team spirit is stronger than ever during these difficult times. We were able to show off our organized play on the pitch today as well. Certainly, in the first half, luck helped us twice, but the attitude of the whole team and the team spirit became stronger, and we were able to fight together in a true sense. I think it's done.
And the most important thing is to always show this fighting attitude at our home Saitama Stadium. I think all the players showed this kind of attitude today, but depending on the flow of the game, there will be times when it is difficult for us to advance the game as we would like. Even in times like this, it is very important to always have a fighting attitude and a strong will to win without fail, and to show that in your plays. So today, I'm really happy that I was able to leave it as a result."
Opponent team comment
Levy Crupi
(Head Coach)
- “Urawa showed their strength on the ball, their feelings and fighting spirit, so I think this result is reasonable. Cerezo also had chances to score goals, but they weren't able to score them, while Urawa scored two goals, which is why we lacked the motivation to go for goals. I think it contributed to the results."
