Trial-match comments
Volker Finke
(Head Coach)
- "We were able to watch a very intense Trial, and I am truly disappointed that it ended in this way. I also believe that the spectators who came to the stadium were able to enjoy a fascinating and intense Trial.
Regarding the first half, Kashima Antlers players were very confident and eager to play in this away Trial. However, we did not allow many scoring chances to the opponent, and conversely, we created chances to take the lead. What I really appreciate is that all the players fought very well today and were able to get into the game.
And in the second half, we continued to attack and were able to create some very decisive moments. So I think it was fair for us to take the lead. And it's disappointing to concede a goal like that in the 95th minute and lose the points. However, as you can see from those moments, our team is still growing.
We are working hard now to become a very strong team in the future, and I can say for sure that in the near future, if a situation like this arises, we will not lose points in extra time in a wasteful way. However, we must not forget that we have already lost points in extra time four times this year, which is very regrettable.
Opponent team comment
Oswaldo Oliveira
(Head Coach)
- "It's difficult to say whether today's result was fair or not. To be honest, if we compare it based on the number of chances we created, I can say without a doubt that Antlers should have won. However, football is a game of whether you can convert the chances you create or not. In that sense, I believe the Reds had three clear chances, one of which they converted properly. We had more chances than that, but we couldn't convert it and we were able to score at the end. I think that the good thing about this Trial is that we were able to convert our chances at the end, which we hadn't done before. In other Trial, we kept pushing the opponent even in the final minutes, but we couldn't convert, resulting in draws and losses, so I think that the fact that we ended up like this this Trial should be seen as a gain. Especially considering the time of day, we picked up a point from a losing situation, so in that sense, I think it's better to see it as a positive."
