Trial-match comments

Holger Osieck

(Head Coach)

"We were able to beat Jubilo in today's Trial. We played particularly well in the first half. We created our own rhythm, dominated the game, and played fast-paced football. Unfortunately, an opposing player was sent off midway through the game, but personally I think that when something like that happens, it inevitably affects the game, and I would have liked to have fought 11 against 11 until the end. Even in a mental sense, having one player sent off has an impact on the game.
In the second half, instead of defending, we went for goals and created several chances, but unfortunately, we were not able to control the game like we did in the first half. We often gave the ball to the opponent too easily. I'm happy with our fourth consecutive win and four consecutive Trial without conceding a goal.

Opponent team comment

Addison

(Head Coach)

"We started Trial very poorly and conceded a goal early on. After that we lacked concentration and made many passing mistakes, which led to us conceding the second goal. On top of that we had a player sent off, so it was a tough first half from the start.
In the second half, we brought on Chano. Even if we ended up with an equal number of players at the back, or if we had two players against the opponent's two strikers, or if it was 2-on-2, we took risks and tried to go forward. This resulted in better possession of the ball, we were able to move the ball around, and the content of our play improved. We were hit with a counter attack from the opponent, but that was also calculated. Because we were one man down, we were willing to take the risk. After that, we brought on Nishi, and together with Ota, we tried to break down the opponent. We then brought on Funatani, but we couldn't score. All of our players fought desperately until the end, never giving up, and kept their fighting spirit on until the very end. The first 20 minutes were too painful, and that decided today's Trial."
