Trial-match comments
Holger Osieck
(Head Coach)
- "I think we were able to see a very high-level Trial even within the J.League today because it featured two of the top teams representing the J.League. As for our team's Trial today, especially in the second half, the players showed more than satisfactory performance and went after goals without any time to rest. They performed in a way that forced the Gamba players into their own half.
The first part of a very tough schedule has now come to an end. In the midst of all this, our team showed great performances today, great morale, and a determination to overcome the obstacles that were in front of us.
Unfortunately we couldn't win, but I praised the players in the dressing room after Trial."
Opponent team comment
Akira Nishino
(Head Coach)
- "It was a very attritional battle. Neither team was in top form. The conditions were tough. What kind of football could we play under those conditions? We went for it in the first half. We started well overall, trying to stop the Reds before they could get going, but we couldn't keep it up in the second half. If we had scored more goals, I don't think the Reds would have had the power to come back in the second half like they did. I would have liked to have scored more at that time in the first half. Gamba gradually lost their pace, while the Reds picked up the pace. In the end, both sides were completely worn down by the scrambling, and we were forced to place our two defensive midfielders on the back line, which made for a tough Trial. Rather than winning, we just couldn't get that far today. I feel like the damage from the last few Trial is starting to show. Both teams played tough until the end."
