Comment from Team Manager Mischa before the J. League 12th Sec match against Shimizu S-Pulse

We haven’t won the last three league matches. We lost the match we played against Yokohama F-Marinos and the matches against Jubilo Iwata and Albirex Niigata were finished with a tied result. There is no doubt that both the players and the team would like to win the match tomorrow.

However, our next opponent Shimizu S-Pulse is currently ranked 2nd in the standing. They have been playing well and stable. So, it will certainly be a challenging match for us. Shimizu S-Pulse has many aggressive and fast players. They have a number of players who can handle one-on-one situations well. We must play with a strong determination to win. But, at the same time, we must be calm-minded. We need to balance these two well when we play tomorrow. The match will require us to remain concentrated and use our brains constantly. Rushing to win will not bring us a victory. We must be patient and work out what we need to do in our heads first. We must handle the ball to our advantage every time we have the ball in our possession. We have to make sure to get the second ball. We must do all of these things consciously.

More than half of the players who were playing in the league matches were able to have a rest when the team played the last match against Kawasaki Frontale. However, Abe, Genki and another three players played for the full 90 minutes. Kashiwagi also played for more than 45 minutes. For this reason, by tomorrow I must contemplate on who will be the starting members and who will join forces during the match. I must make the decision for the team to win tomorrow rather than just simply working out our starting members.
