Team Manager Mischa and Player Tomoaki Makino attend official interview session the day before the match against Shanghai SIPG F.C

An official AFC Champions League (ACL) 2017 pre-match interview session was held at Shanghai Stadium in Shanghai, China on the 14th March ahead of the following day’s group stage MD3 match against Shanghai SIPG F.C. Urawa Reds Team Manager Mischa and Player Makino attended the interview session to express their excitement and determination for the upcoming match.

Comment from Team Manager Mischa

The match we will play against Shanghai SIPG F.C. tomorrow will be a very tough one for us. Shinghai SIPG F.C. is a great team with high quality foreign players on the front line. Tomorrow’s match will be played by the teams that have so far won the two ACL matches. As we cannot afford to concede the match tomorrow, we are expecting to play a very fierce match. But, we will be united and do our best to bring back a victorious result back to Japan.

Comment from Tomoaki Makino

We have played a number of matches in ACL and we have played against Guangzhou Evergrande F.C., Beijing Sinobo Guoan F.C. and Shandong Luneng Taishan F.C. to date. Although this will be our first time to play against Shanghai SIPG F.C., having such opportunities to play against formidable FW players in different teams will make our team and myself develop further. For this reason, I am very much looking forward to the tough match we are expected to play tomorrow. We cannot lose the match tomorrow in order for us to up our level as a team.
