Comment from Team Manager Mischa after the J. League 14th Sec match against Gamba Osaka
Our team performed very poorly during the first half of the match. While our opponent team had good moves, we were lagging behind in our response to them. I would like to thank God and our goal keeper Kato for the fact that we were able to finish the first half of the match with the result of one to one.
With regards to the second half of the match, we were able to defend ourselves well without giving any time and space to our opponent team. We were also able to switch swiftly from defensive to offensive well. During the second half of the match, it seemed as though Gamba Osaka was attacking our team by suppressing our moves. However, we were also able to defend ourselves well without giving the opponent team players much freedom. There were a few opportunities for us to score a second goal during the second half. I was glad that our team was able to win the match by scoring another goal in extra time.
In reflection, we were lucky to be able to win the match today. By looking at how we performed, it would have been natural even if we finished the match with a result of one to one. However, having said this, this is the nature of soccer in which one of the teams wins in the end despite the content of the match. Arigatou (thank you).
