Saitama City Delegates Uwara Reds as Tourism Ambassador  

A ceremony to delegate Saitama tourism ambassador was held at Saitama City office on 19th April. In 2008, Urawa Reds was chosen as Saitama’s tourism ambassador to promote Saitama City. Followed by the last time, Reds was appointed as the tourism ambassador again. Representing Reds was Hideki Uchidate from the Hometown Promotion Department. A letter of delegation and a sash were presented to him by Mayor Hayato Shimizu.

Mayor Shimizu touched on the tourist attractions and events in Saitama City such as “Saitama Festival” and Saitama City Omiya Bonsai Museum which opened on 28th March. He requested the cooperation of each ambassador for the next 2 years.

Urawa Reds will take up the appointment as tourism ambassador from now till 31st March 2012.

Hideki Uchidate’s comment about being chosen as the tourism ambassador is as follows.
“I feel very honoured to be appointed as Saitama tourism ambassador. From now on, we have to think of how we can promote Saitama City and act accordingly. During the discussion, as some mentioned, I think it will bring about mutual benefit if all the ambassadors work together to achieve common goals rather than doing things individually. I think such cooperation is important.”
