Reds Gate 1st Year Anniversary Event   

To commemorate the 1st year anniversary of “Reds Gate” at Urawa PARCO, a live program, “Reds Power of Town DX – Reds Gate & Urawa PARCO -” on Reds Wave (78.3MHZ) was held on the 11th of October.

The main MC was Mr. Takeshi Mizuuchi. From 2 pm, ex-Reds players Mr. Yasushi Fukunaga, Mr. Manabu Ikeda and Mr. Tsutomu Nishino participated in the event and talked about their time when they were players and what they are doing now.

From 3 pm, the live program was moved to civic square in front of Urawa PARCO. Alex Santos of Urawa Reds, Miyuki Yanagita and Kozue Ando of Urawa Reds Ladies participated in the event. When they appeared on the stage, they were welcomed by a big round of applause from about 300 people on site. They gave comments on each other’s play and talked about their current situations. After 10 minutes, the 2 Ladies players left the stage. Alex remained on stage and talked about his rehabilitation for his injury and his family, especially about his 2nd daughter who was born just 2 weeks ago.

Then they returned to “Reds Gate”. There, Mr. Mizuuchi hosted a talk show with Mr. Fukunaga, Yanagita and Ando as guests. They talked about the 15th game against Albirex Niigata to be held at Komaba Stadium at 1 pm on 12th October. Then they continued on how they play in the league and their determination to win the league.

Alex Santos
“I have been doing rehabilitation. When I had the operation, the doctor told me it would take 5 or 6 months to fully recover. There is nothing I can do about it, but I want to start playing as soon as possible.
I think I can start jogging at Ohara Training Ground from next week. Then I want to develop myself to the best possible condition. 2 weeks ago, my 2nd child was born. I need to work hard for my children.
As for team, we still have J.League matches and important games in the ACL. Now is the time we need the support from our supporters the most. If you support us, I am sure that we can win. Let’s do our best and enjoy together.”

Miyuki Yanagita
“One of our good points is that we play our best. We never give up.

Kozue Ando
“In order to win, we cannot lose anymore. It is good pressure. My role is to score. That is why I want to score many goals and help the team win. Especially when the team is struggling I want to contribute to the team.
