Press conference for Plenus Nadeshiko League 2008   

The press conference for Plenus Nadeshiko League 2008 was held at JFA house on the 8th of April. Managers and captains of 17 teams from division 1 and 2 attended the conference.

From Urawa Reds Ladies, Manager Hiroshi Muramatsu and Vice Captain Nozomi Yamago attended. It started with an explanation of the league and announced that PLENUS Co., Ltd. became the new top partner from this season.

Manager Muramatsu expressed his hope, “We aim to play beautiful football and will work hard to win titles as much as we can”. Yamago said, “Urawa Reds Ladies is celebrating its 4 year anniversary since its start. We have not won a title yet so we will do our best. I also hope that we can show entertaining plays so that girls who come and watch us play will enjoy”. In a question and answer session, Yamago was asked “What is necessary to win the title from Beleza?” Her reply was, “Our opponent is not just Beleza. By taking our games one by one under the manager’s direction, we would like to challenge Beleza”. Then they had a photo session and the press conference ended.

Manager Hiroshi Muramatsu
“We are ready. I am anxiously waiting for the start of the league. We will not focus too much on the result of the first game, but I am more excited how much our 2 months preparation can work in an actual game. We will be able to anticipate this season’s result from the opening game. In that sense, it is an important game. Before we play against Beleza, we have some other games. We must do our best to win these games. We are focusing on how well we can play against Beleza and this will be our turning point. In this season, we have 3 games against Beleza and our goal is to finish one game at least with a draw. Our opening game is one day earlier than other teams. We will be the first to show our beautiful football in a good atmosphere and are very motivated. The beauty of football is when we can move a lot, pass the ball beautifully and smoothly move forward to the goal. That is what we are aiming to do. In defense, we will surely have rough plays, but I believe that is part of our beautiful football. We will score many goals.”

Nozomi Yamago
“Urawa Reds Ladies is celebrating its 4 year anniversary this year. Regarding our preparation before the opening, I believe this year is going to be our best. Our aim is to play beautiful football on the pitch as manager Muramatsu said, so that many girls will say that they started playing football because of Reds Ladies. Not only Beleza games but also other games are also important. If we can play our best football for 90 minutes, we will be a threat to Beleza. Now we are in good condition, practicing on ball possession and trying to play beautiful football.”
