Jr. Youth Ladies participate in All Japan Women’s Youth (U-15) Tournament   

The “All Japan Women’s Youth (U-15) Soccer Tournament” will be held from 6th to 10th August.

This tournament will be held to decide Japan’s number 1 team in the women’s U-15 category. From the regional preliminary tournament, both women’s soccer clubs and club teams participat. Urawa Reds Junior Youth Ladies has been the champion for the past 2 consecutive years and will aim to be the champion again for the third time.

In the 1st round, 16 teams will be divided into 4 groups. The 4 teams will then play among themselves with the top team in each group (total 4 teams) advancing into the semi final. Reds Junior Youth Ladies will play in the A group together with Iga FC Flaulein, Albirex Niigata Ladies U-18 and Aguilas Kobe Junior Youth that are strong teams playing in the Nadeshiko league (except for Aguilas Kobe Junior Youth). Apart from having to face strong opponents, the schedule is very tight and Reds Junior Youth Ladies will have to play 5 consecutive games. Hence, the team will be put to the test.

On regular basis, Junior Youth Ladies has been training at a higher level with university students and adults. With pride as defending champion, we want them to play against the U-15 teams and achieve the third championship.

“We are under pressure to win the championship for the third time. We have many players who have experienced winning since 2 years ago. Therefore I am sure we can do it. The girls who are in their third year of junior high school are regular players in the Kanto league as well. Hence we will play to our best and achieve victory.”
