Hiroyuki Takasaki Participates in Saitama Festival 2008
Hiroyuki Takasaki participated in “YEG Festa 2008” of “Saitama Festival 2008” as a guest on the 12th of October.
This event was held with the motto, “Let’s Build Saitama’s Tradition and Culture” at Saitama Super Arena and around the west exit of Saitama New Metropolitan Station.
Takasaki first distributed postcards as participation gifts to children who tried their kicking skills by aiming at targets in the goal. Takasaki also tried and got the highest score of 50 points by hitting the target at the top left hand corner of the goal to demonstrate his professional skill. He then tried shooting some basketballs. He scored 2 times consecutively. He impressed a professional basketball player in Saitama Pref., Takeshi Ando of Saitama Broncos who commented, “You are very good”.
Next, Takasaki went on the stage in Keyaki square together with Daisuke Watabe of Omiya Ardija and Omiya Ardija’s team mascot Ardi.
Takasaki introduced himself saying, “I am Hiroyuki Takasaki of Urawa Reds, No. 26. Reds have not being doing well recently, but I assure you that we will win. Thank you for your support.” This drew a round of applause from audience. After his speech, Takasaki, Watabe and Ardi passed a ball around together with children on stage.
He then moved to the Reds booth and held an autograph session. About 100 supporters asked for his autograph. A photo taking session was also held.

“I had fun spending time with supporters. I rarely have chances such as this, so it was a good experience for me. I felt that a lot was expected of me when I was signing autographs for them. In order to perform well every time when I am called up for the first team, I will do a proper preparation.”
